Tuesday IndyCar Test times from Sebring (Update)
James Hinchcliffe |
UPDATE It looks like the 2019 tires Firestone will provide to the series will be faster than last year's tires. The top three times shown below are rumored to have been set on the 2019 Firestone R&D tires and only one driver per team was given the tires to test.
01/15/19 While many in the IndyCar Series were in Detroit today for the big NTT IndyCar sponsorship announcement, eleven drivers were pounding around the 1.7-mile Sebring short course in the first big 2019 test ahead of the season opener in St. Petersburg in March.
James Hinchliffe turned the fastest overall lap but it's meaningless really as we do not know who was sandbagging and showing their full hand.
The Penske and Coyne Teams were not at the test.
