Did IRL overlook cheaters

UPDATE Izod IndyCar Series officials are not talking about what is being referred to as a questionable underwing used by some cars in last weekend's race at Chicagoland Speedway.

At least three cars were believed to have used the suspicious part, and talk in the paddock has centered on the three Andretti Autosport drivers who finished in the top five: Marco Andretti, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Tony Kanaan. Series officials routinely put the top five race finishers through a post-race technical inspection process.

Danica Patrick, the team's fourth driver, was not subjected to that inspection, so it's unclear if she had it, too. Team officials declined comment as no penalties were issued. AutoWeek

09/03/10 Rumor has it in Kentucky that there were 4 IndyCars cars SIGNIFICANTLY out of spec after Chicagoland. Interesting to see how this plays out! If it affects the winner, we suspect nothing will be done and it will be swept under the rug.
