Allgaier likely out in NASCAR

Verizon's exit from NASCAR figures to mean the departure of Justin Allgaier from Roger Penske's organization. The winner of one Nationwide Series race this season has been told by team officials that he can pursue other options.

The 24-year-old Allgaier is fourth in series points heading to Saturday's race at Dover Downs.

Penske officials expect to field two Nationwide cars next season, including the one driven by series points leader Brad Keselowski. The other program likely will be for Sam Hornish Jr., whose Sprint Cup Series future is in limbo given the loss of his No. 77 car's primary sponsor.
