Chevy may also do body kit for IndyCar
"IndyCar has to set the final rules and it seems like they're well on the way to getting there," Campbell sports said. "Once they settle on the final rules we'll know exactly what we can and can't do. But if the rules allow we're preparing to be able to create our own aero package. We have a lot of aero capability and CFD capability inside the company and teams like the Penske organization and others have tremendous aero capability. So we're going to put our best thinking together to produce a very competitive aero kit."
11/13/10 Rumor has it that Chevy, after announcing they will return to IndyCar as an engine supplier, may be interested in also doing a body kit for IndyCar. If they do, their teams will run a Chevy-Chevy instead of, say, a Dallara-Chevy or a Lotus-Chevy. What they probably will not allow is a Chevy body kit on a car running a Honda engine, or a Chevy engine in a car running a Honda body kit. While Lotus are not really engine builders, Honda is so running a Chevy engine in a car with a Honda body kit would make no sense. Honda as of now has expressed no desire to get into the body kit business.
