Fernandes Virgin takeover reports

Team Lotus boss Tony Fernandes has denied he is considering a takeover bid for Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic airline.

In response to a Sunday Times report this past weekend, the AirAsia boss said, “There are no discussions taking place." When asked where the speculation arose from Fernandes replied, “I have no idea."

The UK newspaper reported that Fernandes had renewed his interest in Virgin Atlantic after previously considering and deciding against a bid. A renewed bid could be anywhere in the region of 1-billion pounds.
