Prema Powerteam is delighted to announce that Enzo Fittipaldi will be back with the team for the third consecutive season, making a highly anticipated step to the 2019 Formula Regional European Championship. The 17-year-old Brazilian consistently raised his game in 2018, delivering impressive results and bringing home the Italian Formula 4 title at the end of a spectacular down-to-the-wire battle after also taking third place in the ADAC F4 Championship.

Last year Fittipaldi started strong and stayed competitive throughout the season, scoring 21 podiums, 12 pole positions and 8 wins through a total of 41 races. Grandson of legendary 2-time Formula 1 Champion and Indy 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi, he will now take it to the next level, joining the newest addition to the European single-seater ladder with the goal of carrying the same momentum and form.

Fittipaldi will continue to be supported by the Ferrari Driver Academy, which will partner with Prema in four different championships in 2019 to cover the full ladder from F4 up to the doorsteps of Formula 1.

Angelo Rosin – Team Principal

“Enzo really did a fantastic job last season and we really look forward to seeing him race in the Formula Regional European Championship. He is a proven winner and a really valuable resource for all the team while preparing for a campaign in the new series. We are also proud of the continued support by the Ferrari Driver Academy, which rewarded our efforts and continued to trust us for the step to a new series."

Enzo Fittipaldi

“I am really happy to be racing with Prema Powerteam in 2019 for the third year in a row. We will line-up in the Formula Regional European Championship, a new series with a new car and obviously a new challenge for the team and drivers. Testing will be extremely important to learn the tires and understand how the car works. It is an honor for me to be part of the Ferrari Driver Academy again. They give me all the support I need inside and outside the track and I’m really happy to continue with them and Prema."
