NHRA Arizona Nationals qualifying postponed until Saturday
Brittany Force |
NHRA officials postponed qualifying for the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park until Saturday, Feb. 23, due to inclement weather. Qualifying will resume on Saturday.
Brittany Force is the current No. 1 qualifier for Top Fuel after only one qualifying session due to inclement weather at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. Force powered her dragster to a 4.976-second pass at 185.28 mph during the lone qualifying session of the day.
“We battled the rain all day but we at least got one pass in," Force stated. “It wasn’t what we wanted, it blew the tires off it at maybe about 100 feet out. I pedaled it and it hooked up and went down there so it was good practice. Tomorrow the sun is supposed to be out and hopefully we’ll get in two more."
Matt Hagan (Funny Car) was also provisional No. 1 qualifier at the second event of 24 on the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule. Hagan leads qualifying with his run of 3.942 at 321.50 in his Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
Qualifying for the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals continues at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.
Matt Hagan ran a 3.942 at 321.50 mph in a rain-shortened qualifying session to take the top spot Friday at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.
