Tracy or Empringham to Conquest?

UPDATE #3 With AR1.com sources telling us that Kanaan has signed with KV Racing, one of only a few seats left for Paul Tracy is Conquest Racing. Dale Coyne has yet to announce his lineup, though it looks increasingly likely Bourdais will land one of Coyne's seats. Newman/Haas has not announced their full lineup yet, but Servia and Hinchcliffe have the inside line there. HVM could add a 2nd car if the money was there to do it.

02/16/11 Rumor has it that David Empringham could get the Conquest seat instead of Paul Tracy but it is highly speculative.

02/05/11 "I've talked to Eric Bachelart [Conquest] a lot over the last month and he keeps saying he wants to get more serious," Tracy told the Indianapolis Star.

"He wants to move up, and you can't do that with ride-buyers. He's been proactive and aggressive. He's working hard."

Tracy said he had some sponsorship he could bring to teams for 2011, but not enough to secure a full-season deal.

"I've got a million dollars lined up, I'm talking to teams, and it's like I'm a beggar on the street," he said. "One million dollars is like 10 cents to team owners."

Other drivers in contention for Conquest's two-car team include its 2010 driver Bertrand Baguette, Indy Lights champion JK Vernay – who tested for the squad this week – and Sebastian Saavedra, who contested the 2010 finale for Conquest.

01/19/11 According to SPEEDTV.com’s Robin Miller, Paul Tracy is working with Eric Bachelart to try and put together a full-time IndyCar deal for 2011. We have updated our 2011 IndyCar Silly Season Page.
