Jerez circuit close to bankruptcy

A week after a dispute with MotoGP, the Jerez circuit in southern Spain has it is close to bankruptcy and has asked for court protection from creditors to avoid seizure of the plant and complete bankruptcy. The owner of the circuit is Cijersa, a public company owned by the municipality of Jerez and the Andalusian Regional Government, which is currently in a delicate financial situation and unable to honor a debt of 18 million euros against two construction companies, and FCC Serviobras, who had carried out the restructuring of the circuit nine years ago and who had filed a lawsuit to recover what is due them.
