Ricciardo to land 2012 Toro Rosso drive

Daniel Ricciardo is well on course to claim a seat at Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2012, with Team Principal Franz Tost eager for the young Australian to make it onto the grid after an impressive early motorsport career. Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari are currently contracted to the Italian squad for the rest of the year, but Ricciardo has been putting pressure on the duo with his recent Friday outings.
"He should learn the team, all the race tracks, to work together with the engineers, get a little bit of knowledge about the press work, about the marketing and this should be the preparation for him to race for Toro Rosso in 2012." Tost explained to reporters at Istanbul Park.
The Trins-born man was then asked about the possibility of Ricciardo replacing either Buemi or Alguersuari at some point during the 2011 campaign, replying: "No, currently not."
