CHINA GROVE, N.C., – After a successful team debut in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD class earlier this year at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Precision Performance Motorsports has begun the preparations for their multi-car Super Trofeo North America campaign for 2019. Conor Daly and Brandon Gdovic have been announced as the team’s first entry, running the No. 46 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO in the Pro/Pro class.
In addition to their full season GTD program, the Lamborghini sports car team will also compete in the full Super Trofeo North America Championship, which will consist of five double header events across North America’s best road courses and conclude with the World Final event in Cadiz, Spain.
"We had an incredibly successful performance in Pro/Pro last year," said Team Manager Sunny Voelker. “Conor and Brandon will be a powerful lineup, and the plan is to win the championship and at the same time, contribute to the performance of all our drivers in team cars with the experience they bring to the table."
With extensive experience across the spectrum of motorsports, American racer Conor Daly brings with him a wealth of knowledge to his rookie Super Trofeo season. At 27 years old, Daly has clinched championships in the Skip Barber National Championship, Pro Mazda, and the MRF Challenge. The Indy Lights and GP3 race winner has five Indianapolis 500 starts to his name, and also holds four top five finishes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Challenge.

“I couldn’t be more excited to take on another new challenge in my career with Precision Performance Motorsports," said Daly. “The Lamborghini Super Trofeo series is incredibly competitive and I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity to jump in with Brandon and go after the championship. Lamborghini has developed one of the best looking race cars out there right now and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel for the first time!"
Brandon Gdovic began his motorsports career in 2009 in the NASCAR Limited Sportsman division, earning his first win in his sixth start and finishing the season by taking the pole position at Martinsville Speedway. Within two years, Gdovic advanced to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East division, finishing in the top ten for half of his races that season. In 2013, he earned his first win at Greenville Pickens Speedway. Over the next few years, Gdovic continued his climb up the NASCAR ladder, and in 2015, began his expansion to sports car racing. In his rookie season, he clinched the 2015 Super Trofeo Series AM championship, and continued to split his time between sports car racing and NASCAR. Now fully invested in his sports car racing career, Gdovic will return for his fifth season in the IMSA-sanctioned Super Trofeo Series.

“I’m excited to get back behind the wheel for a full race season," said Gdovic. “Conor will be a great addition to the team and it’s looking like we’ll have some great competition this season. This series is packed with a lot of up and coming drivers and gentleman racers, which always creates a great racing experience for competitors and fans. I’m looking forward to turning those first laps and fighting for another championship."
Daly and Gdovic will begin the race season with round one, April 6-7, 2019 at Barber Motorsports Park in support of the NTT IndyCar Series. The weekend will consist of two 40-minute practice sessions, followed by two 15 minute qualifying sessions for race one and two, respectively. For full event information, visit imsa.com.
