Scuderia Corsa and the No. 20 entry driven by Ed Jones begin a new challenge together at the season opener of NTT IndyCar in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Joining Scuderia Corsa at the inaugural 2019 NTT IndyCar race on car No. 20, is Hong-Kong based shipping conglomerate Flex-Box, the international leader in innovation and development of shipping containers. Hosting Flex-Box at a highlight event on the IndyCar calendar further broadens Flex-Box notoriety through and in motorsport.
In St. Petersburg, Jones takes to the 14-turn street course, known for tight turns and ever-changing terrain from the various surfaces of public streets. Round One follows his debut in the Scuderia Corsa/Ed Carpenter Racing entry at IndyCar Spring Training in February. While this is Jones first race with Scuderia Corsa, it will be his third appearance in the IndyCar event.

“It’s always exciting to start a new season," Jones said. “We’ve put in a lot of effort to be ready for St. Pete. Testing could have gone a little better for us but sometimes it works out in your favor to have that happen. You sort of get the issues figured out so that you can have a good race at the start. Hopefully, that’s the case for us. I’ve had decent results at St. Pete in years past. I’d like to build on that this year, obviously the goal is always to win, but we’ll see."
The lead up to the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg begins Friday, March 8 with a day of practice. Qualifying takes place Saturday, March 9 in a two-round, two group format. The green flag drops Sunday, March 10 at 1:30 ET. The race is broadcast on NBCSN and live streamed on http://IndyCar.com.
