Danica won’t commit to IndyCar – NASCAR Bound?

Danica Patrick is in the spotlight again this year, her seventh Indianapolis 500, with a lot of talk focusing on her future.

Patrick's contract with Andretti Autosport is complete at the end of this year, and NASCAR could be in her future. Patrick said she hasn't made any decisions about future plans.

In many ways, Patrick is still the face of the IndyCar series. She's far removed from her 2005 debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, when she said she was a "wee girl racing at Indy," but the Indy 500 still gives her a rush.

"I feel like I get more nervous every year. I'm more nervous coming into it this year than last year," Patrick said. "Maybe it's because you're getting older and on some level you think you have less of them to do. I don't know. I also think after this many years … it starts to really sink in what this event is all about."

Patrick had an amazing run in her rookie year, leading 19 laps and finishing fourth. She also finished in the top 10 in 2006 and 2007. She didn't finish the race in 2008, but came back with a third-place showing in 2009. Patrick was sixth last year.

"I just love this event," Patrick said. "I don't know where the future is going to take me."
