Indy winner to get ride for rest of year
IndyCar cannot afford to not have the winner of its biggest race, the Indy 500, not in the field at all of the remaining races. Rumor has it that deals are being put together behind the scenes by Bryan Herta Motorsports to run Wheldon in either a Sam Schmidt Motorsports car or possibly a KV Racing car where he would be reunited with Tony Kanaan who had much success together at Andretti Green (with Dario Franchitti). Herta is friends with KV's Jimmy Vasser as well so it makes a lot of sense. And we do think KV Racing is getting tired fixing crashed race cars from two of its existing drivers.
