IndyCar eyes two new international races
“I’d like to use the promoters we have because they’re doing a good job," he said. “Toronto this year is going to be off the charts, I’m hearing."
05/18/11 Word on the street is that IndyCar hopes to add two international races to its current schedule when the Motegi, Japan race goes away after 2011. Qatar, Mexico City, a 2nd race in Brazil (previously rumored during this year' Sao Paulo, Brazil round), and China are said to be on the short list.
Qatar (pronounced Cutter) would be a waste of time in our book due to the hatred for America in that part of the world, Mexico City makes a lot of sense but right now it's too dangerous for Americans in Mexico, the 2nd Brazil race will happen and China is all but a wet dream for IndyCar unless Ho-Pin Tung gets a lot of attention from China, thus boosting IndyCar in China.
