Two multiple Grand Prix of Long Beach winners–Sebastien Bourdais and Will Power– will be inducted on Thursday, April 11, at 11:00 am into the Long Beach Motorsports Walk of Fame, a City of Long Beach and Grand Prix Association of Long Beach joint project.

The public is invited to attend the 14th annual Walk of Fame induction ceremony, which will be held on South Pine Avenue in front of the Convention Center as part of the festivities surrounding the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Admission to the ceremony is free.

"Sebastien Bourdais and Will Power have truly earned their place on the Motorsports Walk of Fame," said Mayor Robert Garcia, who will be presenting medallions to the honorees. "It is a privilege to welcome them back to Long Beach and honor them for all of their outstanding achievements in the racing world."

Both drivers have had tremendous success on the streets of Long Beach.

Sebastien Bourdais won three consecutive races (2005-07) and has earned two additional podium finishes and two pole positions. In his career to date, he has logged 37 race victories and had a string of four consecutive Champ Car championships (2004-2007).

Power is a two-time Long Beach winner (2008, 2012) and has also scored three pole positions and five additional podium finishes, including second place last year behind race winner Alexander Rossi. The defending Indianapolis 500 champion, he has 35 career wins to date and was the 2014 IndyCar Series champion.

The upcoming Acura Grand Prix will mark each driver’s 13th appearance in America’s #1 Street Race.

“This is the first time we’ve inducted active Indy Car drivers into the Walk of Fame," said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. “But I can’t think of two more deserving drivers. They have performed at a high level here for many years and we look forward to even more success in the future."

The Walk of Fame medallions include renditions of the racers' Long Beach-winning cars, as well as their major achievements in motorsports. For more information, visit www.lbmotorsportswof.com.
