Honda plans new NSX
It will be shown to the public for the first time at the Detroit Motor Show in January next year and the drivetrain will be comprised of a petrol-electric combination that uses a three-liter V6 motor pushing out over 225kW and driving all four wheels through a system that’s been dubbed SH-AWD, which is very simply Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive. The petrol engine will only drive the front wheels, while the electric motor will take care of the rear wheels.
There’s a new torque distribution system at the back too, which acts as a differential and improves the safety of the car’s handling as well as the handling responsiveness. The Super Sports will also likely transfer its power through a seven-speed double-clutch transmission.
What’s more, even though the car will be an Acura in the States, it will be sold as a Honda in countries that don’t have the Acura brand.
