Who is going to eat the loss of a Milwaukee race?
Dear Mordichai, As Albert Einstein once said, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Yes, Milwaukee will lose money for the 11th straight year if they run that race. However, when in doubt, follow the money. IndyCar must have a minimum of 16 races on the calendar or it will lose the series sponsor – IZOD. The street race in Las Vegas isn't happening in 2012 and Fort Lauderdale won't be ready until 2013. Therefore, whoever promotes the race will likely do so with a guarantee from IndyCar to eat the losses by accepting a smaller sanctioning fee. That loss will be less than losing IZOD. Perhaps the worst part will be ending the season in Fontana where you will be able to shoot a canon into the grandstands and not hit anyone. I hear they could resurrect the Disney oval for one year until Fort Lauderdale is ready and end the season in Disney with Mickey Mouse. Mark C.
