Dale Jr. Officially Joins NBC Sports’ Indianapolis 500 Coverage

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will officially be part of NBC Sports' coverage of the Indianapolis 500 as part of a broadcast team that includes Mike Tirico and Danica Patrick.

Earnhardt is "set to serve as a roving reporter on race day and be featured on NBCSN’s 500 coverage during race week."

It was "widely speculated that Earnhardt might be one of the prominent personalities" to join NBC's first 500.

NBCSN's lead IndyCar commentary team of Leigh Diffey, Townsend Bell and Paul Tracy will call the race itself, while host Krista Voda and reporter Rutledge Wood will also contribute to the network’s race presentation.

Earnhardt amassed 26 NASCAR victories during his storied career, including two Daytona 500 wins. He joined NBC Sports’ NASCAR broadcast team following his retirement from full-time racing in 2017.

In addition to his work on NBC Sports’ NASCAR coverage, Earnhardt has also contributed to the network’s presentations of the 2018 Winter Olympics, Super Bowl LII, and the Stanley Cup Final.
