McLaren Racing and Dell Technologies today announced an extension of their long-term partnership that will see the brands come together at this year’s Indianapolis 500 in May. The 103rd edition of the iconic race will see McLaren challenge for a fourth victory at the event with Fernando Alonso, who will seek to secure the Triple Crown of motorsport.
Dell Technologies, which became a multi-faceted technology partner to McLaren in February 2018, deploys critical race and business technology across McLaren Racing, McLaren Applied Technologies and the McLaren Shadow Project.
This partnership extends the technical alliance with McLaren and sees Dell Technologies products and services powering key areas of the car design and development.
Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Racing, said:
“At McLaren we often say that whether at track or at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, we’re never more than a meter or millisecond away from Dell Technologies products and services. Now we will also be able to say this from the iconic Brickyard in May. Since our partnership was announced last season, Dell Technologies has been helping us make better decisions, faster, on the race track and beyond and we’re honored that they have chosen to extend this partnership to the Indy 500 race."
Anne Ristau, Head of Global Sponsorships, Dell Technologies, said:
“Our partnership with McLaren began because of our shared focus on innovation. We are particularly excited by the innovative ways the team is using technology to prepare for its return to the Indy 500. McLaren relies on Dell Technologies to process, analyze and store massive amounts of data – quickly and reliably – to understand car performance and optimise set up. We are thrilled to support McLaren in their continuous pursuit of excellence, not only in motorsport but also across the McLaren Group."
