Rain has stopped |
04/24/19
The rain has stopped and the sky to the west is getting lighter. The safety trucks are out drying the track. Radar is not showing any other rain until after 6 pm tonight. It is still pretty wet in pit lane so it might be another hour before IndyCar decides what to do with the schedule for the rest of today.
Some drivers were not happy with the tires last year due to the lack of downforce with the new car. Firestone listened to what the drivers wanted and they have constructed a new tire for this year's race. The compound is different than last year and the right side tires are a little bit more grippy. The Firestone lettering is colored red instead of white on the sidewalls.
We are waiting to hear how the schedule will change after this 3 hour delay.
