Baku F2: Sean Gelael disqualified for knocking over Baku marshals
Sean Gelael |
Prema Racing driver Sean Gelael has been disqualified from qualifying for the Azerbaijan Feature race.
The Indonesian driver came to a stop during the session after suffering an electrical issue, causing a red flag as marshals arrived to recover his car.
However Gelael restarted his car, knocking two marshals to the ground. Although they look to have escaped injury, the stewards have chosen to disqualify the 22-year-old.
"While being pushed to a safe location by the marshals, Gelael restarted his car which resulted in a dangerous situation for the marshals. He was then prohibited from taking any further part in the session.
"Furthermore, it was decided that he was disqualified from the results, but the Stewards have given him permission to start tomorrow’s Feature Race from the back of the grid."
