Formula E Launches Ghost Racing Mobile Game

Formula E on Friday launched a high-tech ghost racing app that will allow viewers to run a virtual race that mimics the action going on in actual races in real time. Virtually Live Ghost Racing is available on iOS and Android phones and tablets. The game is groundbreaking in that it takes the telemetry going on in Formula E’s actual races and mirrors it in a virtual race which fans will be able to participate in. The first action on the app will be during Saturday's race on the streets of Paris.

However, Formula E told THE DAILY that the app is not going to be available in the U.S. this weekend because the series is still working with U.S. media-rights holder Fox Sports on approving the app for this territory. Formula E says it expects a resolution to the matter soon. The series worked with media company Virtually Live on the project, which is believed to be the first of its kind for a major racing series.
