Bill Elliott’s son next 2nd generation driver to star in NASCAR?

Chase Elliott

It's pretty safe to assume that by now we all agree that Chase Elliott has a very bright future in NASCAR racing. Just this season alone the 17 year old son of NASCAR driving icon Bill Elliott has four starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series resulting in two top five finishes and three top tens. Then on June 8th he put on an outstanding performance while winning the ARCA Racing Series event at Pocono Raceway.

Super team owner Rick Hendrick made quick work of recognizing Elliott's potential and signed him to a multi year driver development deal back in 2011. The young driver has become a very high priority for Hendrick and he very much wants to see Elliott driving in NASCAR's Nationwide Series beginning with the 2014 season.

While no official plans have been announced for Elliott's future, there are so strong indicators that says the young driver will indeed be in the Nationwide Series next season.

One of those indicators is the presence of Aaron's Stores who has been sponsoring Elliott in many of his racing endeavors this year. There are reports that says Aaron's executives really likes this driver and wants to be a part of his future potential.

Certainly a strong 2014 option for Chase Elliott is the Dale Earnhardt Jr owned J R Motorsports who currently campaigns two, sometimes three, cars in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. It's very well known that Rick Hendrick is a partner with Earnhardt in this operation. It's a perfect move for Hendrick's young development driver.

Keep an eye on 17 year old Chase Elliott. He's going to be a driver to watch in the coming years. Dave Grayson reporting
