Kanaan to compete in ‘Dancing With the Stars’
Indianapolis 500 champion Tony Kanaan is in talks to compete on "Dancing With the Stars," following in the footsteps of fellow racecar driver Helio Castroneves. The 38-year-old won the Indy 500 in May, becoming the first Brazilian driver to nab the crown since Castroneves took the title in 2009. And Kanaan may be taking another page from the Season 5 "DWTS" champ by heading to the ballroom and competing in the arduous dance contest.
Kanaan tells HollywoodLife.com, "Yeah, we're in talks. Obviously, Helio did such a great job representing the drivers and the Brazilians. Me, being a Brazilian, I'm going to have a tough task but I'll try. We'll see. If it's the right time, I'll definitely accept it and go try it." Season 17 of "DWTS" will premiere this fall.
