Bell wins Xfinity pole in Charlotte

Christopher Bell took the pole for this afternoon’s Alsco 300 with a speed of 184.313 mph, using handling in the corners to create an advantage that the field couldn’t match. Cole Custer was second with a speed of 183.187. Tyler Reddick, lone Cup Series interloper Austin Dillon and Brandon Jones made up the top five.
Justin Allgaier was sixth, Austin Cindric qualified seventh, Michael Annett took eighth, Jeffrey Earnhardt came in eighth and Noah Gragson will round out the top 10 on the grid when the race goes green shortly after 1:00 pm Eastern time.
Custer was the top-finishing Xfinity Series regular in this race last year, finishing second to Brad Keselowski. He’s currently third in points behind defending champion Reddick and second-place Bell, who won the last NXS race at Dover three weeks ago. Cindric and Allgaier round out the top five in points, and all start inside the top seven today. Amy Henderson Reporting
