UPDATE CORRECTION: Upon further research, this past weekend’s Monaco was NOT the most viewed F1 race ever on US cable.
The highest was the 1995 Brazilian Grand Prix on ESPN at 1.7 million. Three more races from 1995 are 2-4, then the 2019 Monaco is fifth all-time.
05/29/19 ESPN earned a 0.58 final TV rating for the Monaco GP live broadcast Sunday morning with 908,000 tuned in.
Later that day the replay on ABC pulled a 0.49 rating with 705,000 tuned in.
So the total viewership for ESPN and ABC was a very healthy 1.61 Million viewers, equal to the 1.61M viewers on the live broadcast last year on ABC.
