McLaren missing Indy 500 was a blow to IndyCar
Dumb-Arse people who thought McLaren being bumped from the 500 was a good thing |
While there was a lot of chest-beating about the fact that a minnow IndyCar team (Juncos) bumped the mighty McLaren F1 team out of the Indy 500, let's examine what it really meant for IndyCar:
1. The McLaren board has since decided NOT to enter a full-time team in IndyCar for 2020 because of their failure to make the 500
2. Kyle Kaiser was out of the Indy 500 early. What McLaren would have brought to IndyCar in the way of a full-time team and the publicity surrounding them, far far far outweighs what Juncos brings to IndyCar given they are hanging on by a shoestring and run very few races.
