Budget to run Indy in 2015

Has even the budget for an Indy one-off become cost prohibitive?

From early morning discussions at IndyCar Media Day, AutoRacing1 is hearing that the budget for a 'one-off' Indianapolis 500 program this year is somewhere between $800,000-$1,000,000. This number assumes you already have a chassis. As one former Indy Racing League driver looking to put together a 500-only program in 2015, "finding the money is the hard part. By comparison, the racing is easy."
