02/04/15 AutoRacing1 is hearing from another source that Florian Latorre is going to re-join Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing to contest the 2015 Pro Mazda Championship. Latorre, of course, won the 2014 U.S. F2000 Series title, and recently tested with the team. We expect an announcement soon.
02/01/15 2014 Cooper Tires USF2000 Powered By Mazda champion Florian Latorre tested earlier this week for Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing at the Homestead-Miami Speedway road course. Although nothing has been made official Latorre drove for Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing in 2014, and has the scholarship money to 'move up' to Pro Mazda.
Toronto native Nicolas Latifi also got a taste of Pr Mazda this week, testing for M1 Autosport. The 19-year-old spent 2014 primarily in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.

| The 2015 Pro Mazda field is taking shape |
We've already filled you in on the Silly Season happenings for the 2015 Indy Lights Series Presented by Cooper Tires. Here, we move to the second rung of the Mazda Road to Indy for the 2015 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires.
The 2014 championship team Juncos Racing will be testing at Palm Beach International Raceway and the Homestead-Miami road course in the coming days. While the championship portion of the Pro Mazda season doesn't begin until the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg weekend, Cooper Tires Winterfest begins in less than a month. And we expect more news about driver/team entries will be forthcoming soon.
For now, we here at AutoRacing1 count 7 confirmed driver/team combinations for the upcoming season.

Other news:
- 2014 Cooper Tires U.S. F2000 Presented by Cooper Tires champion Florian Latorre has the scholarship money to move into Pro Mazda. Latorre tested a Pro Mazda car for his U.S. F2000 championship team Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing at the Chris Griffis Memorial test this September at IMS, and would be a likely candidate for that team.
- When announcing Raoul Owen, JDC Motorsports confirmed they will have three entries in 2015.
- JDC said one of the entries would likely be Michael Johnson
- Kyle Connery, who ran for the team in 2014, is likewise a strong possibility with JDC. In December, Connery confirmed he would have backing this season from Hi-Tide Boat Lifts for a full season entry, possibly with JDC. However, that is as yet, not confirmed.
- Team Pelfrey fielded two full-time entrants in 2014, and additional entries at select events. The team is expected back in 2015, but no official confirmation as yet.
- Los Gatos, CA driver Neil Alberico finished third in the 2014 Pro Mazda championship, scoring four podium finishes for Cape. However, no word on Alberico's plans for 2015.
