Renault to buy Sauber?

Will Renault buy cash-strapped Sauber?

According to our sources here in the Long Beach IndyCar paddock, Renault may be close to buying the Sauber F1 team, even though the team currently uses Ferrari engines.

If true, and Sauber becomes the defacto Renault factory team, will Red Bull, who is very unhappy with Renault's engines these days, be willing to play second fiddle to the 'factory' team knowing the 'factory' team is likely to always get the best engines?

That would leave Red Bull between a rock and a hard place. Would they switch to Ferrari engines? They will still be playing 2nd fiddle to the 'factory' team. A more likely move would be to Honda engines. By then Honda should be up-to-speed and they don't own McLaren, so Red Bull would have a fighting chance, which all they really want.
