Possible new IndyCar races for 2016
According to racer.com, several tracks could be added to the 2016 IndyCar schedule and some may go away. We rate their chances:
Venue | Chances | Comment |
Mexico City as a season opener | 0% | It will be a cold day in hell before Bernie Ecclestone allows IndyCar to race on the same track as F1 in the same year |
Phoenix | 25% | You will be able to shoot a cannon in the grandstands and not hit anyone if IndyCar returns making IndyCar look like a complete loser. The France family loves it when IndyCar looks inferior to their NASCAR product |
Homestead | 50% | This track was on AR1.com's proposed 2016 schedule and makes sense as an early February race |
Road America | 100% | It's going to happen |
Richmond | 20% | You will be able to shoot a cannon in the grandstands and not hit anyone if IndyCar returns making IndyCar look like a complete loser. The France family loves it when IndyCar looks inferior to their NASCAR product |
Laguna Seca | 10% | The place will be a ghost town. The wow factor is gone |
NOLA | 0% | One and done |
Milwaukee | 50% | IndyCar looking for a new race promoter to take the financial bloodbath |
Fontana | 75% | Should return as the season opener in late January, but that makes too much sense so IndyCar would never do it |
Indy | 0% | The Indy 400 should end the IndyCar season at IMS. However, that makes too much sense so IndyCar will never do it. They prefer to embarrass themselves at some track with empty grandstands. Makes a great impression as a season finale. Not. |
