Mercedes under investigation (Update 3)
09/06/15 AR1 has received the text of an FIA Technical Delegate's Report, who referred the matter to the stewards for investigation.
Amongst the items in the report is that after the five-minute signal to race start was given the psi measurements of cars 5 (Vettel), 6 (Rosberg), 7 (Raikkonen) and 44 (Hamilton) were taken. The pressures were measured with "the calibrated tire pressure gauge of the official Formula One tire supplier."
–Cars 5 and 7 were above the specified minimum tire starting pressure.
–Car 6 was 1.1 psi below the specified minimum tire starting pressure
–Car 44 was 0.3 psi below the specified minimum tire starting pressure.
09/06/15 This rumor is upgraded to 'fact.' It has been confirmed that a team representative from Mercedes AMG Petronas has been summoned to the stewards to discuss minimum tire starting pressure.
This could cast doubt on the results of the recently-concluded Italian Grand Prix won by Lewis Hamilton. Stay tuned to AR1 for updates.
09/06/15 AR1 is hearing that team representatives from Mercedes AMG Petronas have been summoned for a meeting with the stewards at 16:15 Monza time (10:15 ET) regarding an incident related to cars 6 (Nico Rosberg) and 44 (Lewis Hamilton) in the recently concluded Italian Grand Prix. We also hear that the issue in question is tire pressures, and that Hamilton who won the Grand Prix is facing the possibility of a 25-second time penalty. Rosberg did not finish the race.
Granted, this may not matter, of course, as Hamilton won by 25.042 seconds. The investigation, however, may explain the pleas to Hamilton from the team late in the race to pick up his pace.
