Is Indy Speedway For sale?

Q:
I keep reading about rumors that IMS is being spruced up for possible sell. As we know from F1 and IndyCar, if there is a rumor then there is some substance to it. Mari Hulman denies this and says that IMS is for her grandkids. We all know that today's grandkids don't know their history nor do they care; and are not as loyal to history as Mari. With that new development being built, the grandkids could easily sell the property once Grandma passes on. Why would they want to keep a property that hosts only three races a year when they could sell it and make MILLIONS?

Robin Miller/Racer: First off, Jerry, the rumor about IMS being sold has been around for 20-plus years and, as I've written several times before, in the only interview I ever did with Mari back in the 1980s she made it very clear IMS was NEVER going to be for sale because it was for her grandkids. At that time, she was the ONLY one who could have sold it (said my pal, the late David Cassidy who was Tony Hulman's right-hand man) according to the Speedway's by-laws. But, to my understanding, Tony, Josie, Nancy, Kathi or the grandkids cannot sell the Speedway. Mark Miles maintains it's not for sale but I'm sure he'd entertain any offer because he's running Hulman & Company as a business. Of course the question nobody can accurately answer is what is IMS worth?
