Petty back to Chevy |
UPDATE This rumor, first broke by AR1.com over a month ago, is upgraded to 'fact' with today's announcement.
12/07/17 Multiple media outlets covering the Performance Racing Industry show in Indianapolis this week are reporting an alliance between Richard Petty Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing is a done deal. AR1.com broke the story of Petty's switch to Chevy on November 3rd.
Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal and Jerry Jordon of Kickinthetires.net have both confirmed the move in conversations with Richard Petty that the Petty team with switch manufacturers from Ford to Chevrolet ad will move their shop to Childress' compound in Welcome, N.C., although no official announcement of any of these moves have been made by either organization.
11/03/17 According to AR1.com sources, Richard Petty Motorsport is switching to Chevy for 2018.
We are told the #43 car will be run entirely by RCR, and it replaces the 27 car there.
As previously announced, Bubba Wallace will drive and Drew Blickensderfer will be his Crew Chief.
