WEC News: Entry List for 93rd running of 24 Hours of Le Mans
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has unveiled the provisional entry list for this year’s 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (11-15 June), with a capacity 62-car grid poised to take to the track and the prospect of an ‘epic’ battle for honors.
Last year’s Le Mans event attracted a record-breaking 329,000 spectators, who were treated to a spellbinding spectacle – and more of the same is in store 12 months on.

As the fourth round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign, all 36 FIA WEC regulars are on the list, with double points on offer by dint of the race’s duration and prestige.
The headlining Hypercar field features 21 Le Mans entries representing eight different manufacturers – Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota.
Ferrari is targeting a third straight success at La Sarthe, and will be buoyed by its form in the 2025 FIA WEC curtain-raising contest last week in Qatar, where its trio of 499P prototypes locked out all three places on the podium.
Porsche is the most prolific winner of the Le Mans race – with 19 outright victories to its credit to-date – while Alpine, BMW, Peugeot and Toyota have all similarly triumphed in the French classic. The same can be said of Aston Martin – which conquered the event in 1959 – and the iconic British brand is now back in endurance racing’s top-flight with a brace of distinctive, V12-engined Valkyries.
Cadillac showed great pace both at Le Mans last year and more recently in the Qatar 1812km, and will be doubling up to a four-car effort – including a maiden appearance for leading IMSA protagonist, Wayne Taylor Racing. An extra 963 Hypercar – the model that claimed pole position for the 92nd running of the event – has been added to the Porsche Penske Motorsport fold, with a second 963 for Proton Competition sitting on the reserve list.
In LMGT3, a tremendously competitive grid has been assembled, with cars from Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG – the German manufacturer returning to La Sarthe for the first time in more than a quarter-of-a-century – and Porsche.
Motorcycling hero Valentino Rossi – nine times a world champion on two wheels and a star performer on his Le Mans debut last year – will be back with BMW, and there are additional entries for Corvette, Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche, making up a mouth-watering 24-car field, bolstered by two Ferraris as reserves.
The LMP2 category promises to be fiercely-disputed, too, comprising 17 cars – plus three reserves – and drivers of the caliber of 2023 FIA Formula 2 champion Théo Pourchaire and multiple W Series title-holder, Jamie Chadwick, who will compete for IDEC Sport as part of Genesis Magma Racing’s preparations for its 2026 FIA WEC Hypercar debut.
While not all driver line-ups are complete, the entry list to-date across all three classes counts 16 outright winners of the race.
Pierre Fillon, President, Automobile Club de l’Ouest, said:
“Once again, the 24 Hours of Le Mans presents a superb grid. For this 93rd edition, the greatest carmakers on earth will do battle for overall victory as well as LMGT3 honours. These marques, teams and our partners are united in their commitment to endurance racing, which is currently enjoying a truly golden age. For that, I express my gratitude. All the ingredients are in place for another memorable race, particularly in Hypercar where the level is higher than ever. Last year, the top nine cars in the final classification all finished on the lead lap, which was unheard of! Strategy, efficiency and driving skill will as ever be the keys to success. Here we are in 2025, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans remains one of the most gruelling sporting events, yielding one of the most coveted trophies in the motorsport world.”
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA, said:
“The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of motorsport’s most iconic events and the highlight of the FIA World Endurance Championship season. I had the chance to attend this great race on its centenary, and now I am looking forward to this year’s edition as endurance racing thrives the world over. The entry list reveal is always an important moment, building anticipation for the next Le Mans, and that is the case this year, with a strong and competitive field featuring some of the greatest automotive brands.”
Frédéric Lequien, CEO, FIA World Endurance Championship, said:
“The publication of the entry list for the 24 Hours of Le Mans is invariably a significant moment, and in many ways begins the countdown to the centrepiece of the FIA WEC campaign. To have once again attracted such a spectacular grid – in every category – is testament to this legendary race’s enduring appeal. Last summer’s outstanding battle for glory at La Sarthe is still fresh in the memory, and the magnificent on-track action that we enjoyed in our season-opener in Qatar last week augurs well for another epic edition in just a few short months’ time.”
Richard Mille, President of the FIA Endurance Commission, said:
“The announcement of the 24 Hours of Le Mans entry list is a moment when we really start to think about the next edition of this great race – the competitors, the line-ups, the battle between some of the biggest names in motorsport and ultimately, who the favorites are. The depth and quality of the field across Hypercar and LMGT3 entrants is incredible. I am looking forward to June with the expectation of an unforgettable race.”
