Formula 1 Rumor: German Audi F1 team sold to Arabs (4th Update)
Audi has made an official statement regarding stories on the sale of their F1 team:
In light of the rumors around a reported sale, and indeed the above comments from Schumacher, Audi have now clarified the situation.
In a statement released to GPFans, Audi’s F1 project said: “Audi’s Formula 1 project is long-term and is not in question.
“The decision was well-prepared two and a half years ago and reassessed last year. We are firmly convinced that Formula 1 and Audi are a perfect fit. It is in line with our strategy.
“The announcement of the complete takeover of Sauber in March and the appointment of Mattia Binotto as CTO and COO of the project and Jonathan Wheatley as team principal from the middle of next year are expressions of our determination.
“We do not engage in the speculations that are currently circulating. The team is not for sale.”
Speaking out on these reports via Sky Germany, former F1 star turned pundit Ralf Schumacher claimed that the team were seeking investment due to drastically underestimating the finances needed to compete in the sport.
“Things just aren’t going smoothly,” the German said on Audi’s situation. “There are already personnel changes before they’ve even begun.
“At Sauber at the moment, they’re really fighting at the back of the field, and now, of course, with the economic disaster currently happening in Germany, jobs are under debate, profits are collapsing.
“This has led to the point where Audi has slightly miscalculated the whole project – unfortunately, it appears this is around a billion.”

(GMM) Audi’s new Formula 1 venture looks set to completely sidestep the financial crisis at Volkswagen.
It is emerging this week that, amid the ongoing VW crisis, Sauber’s new 100 percent owner Audi could be set to sell up to half of the F1 team for a tidy profit.
Osterreich newspaper reports that Audi’s purchase price of the Swiss-based Sauber team was 600 million euros.
And the rumored sale-price of a minority share sale to Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, potentially involving title sponsorship by Qatar Airways, could be worth a billion euros to Audi.
“Now Audi is coming (to Sauber),” former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone told Blick newspaper this week, “but in the current situation the Germans are perhaps not even unhappy that some people from Qatar are showing interest in the new project and want to get involved.”
It is believed Audi F1’s deal with Qatar, on top of the Middle Eastern country’s existing part-ownership of the full Volkswagen Group, could be announced at the Qatar GP later this month.
“According to several media reports, the sheikhs are expected to invest up to 1 billion euros,” confirmed the major German newspaper Bild.
“If Qatar were to acquire more than 50 percent, the official team name could even change.”
Audi is yet to comment.
Italy’s La Gazzetta dello Sport also reported: “The investment should initially be a minority stake, without changes to the name or key faces of the team.
“But it is not excluded that in the future the fund will aim for the majority of the team, as well as the (Audi) engine factory” in Neuberg, Germany, the newspaper added.

More information from our inside sources – The team will have 2 Qatari sponsors. One will be the title sponsor. Expect an announcement at the Qatar F1 Race in 3 weeks.
According to reports, the Qataris have indicated that they are willing to spend up to €$1.3 billion on the project if the conditions are right.
Qatar would be a logical investor for Audi in any case because the state-owned airline Qatar Airways is already a key sponsor of F1, and Qatar has been showing an interest in the championship as a global platform for years.
Qatar is also already invested in Volkswagen AG with a 17% stake in the group. Qatar is the third-largest shareholder of the Volkswagen Group, after Porsche (53.3%) and the state of Lower Saxony (20%) via Qatar Holding LLC.

Why is Audi selling out to the Arabs?
Funny things happen when you no longer have cheap oil or a cheap flow of natural resources because you bought into the Green New Scam. And no country bought into the Green New Scam more than Germany.
Just hours after Kamala Harris – and the Democrats – staggering loss which ushered in Trump as president for the third time (yes third time – see below) and gave Republicans a sweep of Congress, Germany’s three-party ruling coalition which had been on the verge of collapse for months, imploded on Wednesday evening after Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced he will fire Finance Minister Christian Lindner over persistent rifts on spending and economic reforms, a move that paves the way for a snap election at the end of March.
The collapse of Germany’s government came just hours after Donald Trump’s clear win in the U.S. election, a result that stunned German political leaders, who depend on American military might for their country’s defense and fear Trump’s tariff policies will hobble German industry.
The government crisis comes at the worst possible time: Trump’s victory, which anticipates imposing significant tariffs on German exports, is expected to put heavy pressure on Europe’s largest economy. An analysis from the German Economic Institute (IW) estimates that a new trade war could cost Germany €180 billion over Trump’s four years in office.
Many in Germany had hoped that the victory of Donald Trump in the U.S. election earlier in the day would force the coalition to hold together over fears that the incoming president would give Europe’s biggest economy a hard ride, targeting its all-important car industry in a trade war.
Ultimately, however, not even the looming threat of Trump proved enough for the fractious parties to put aside their differences.
A Third Win for Trump
Biden campaigned from his basement, and Covid was still going strong. How is it that Biden got 12 million more votes than all the other democrats? That is a lot of democrats who did not vote for the other candidates. The blacks especially came out big for Obama, yet look at his vote count vs. Biden
The only Answer: Cheating was rampant, despite what the Main Stream Media tells you. All the paid off democrat appointed judges refused to hear the cases.
Conclusion: Trump was the only person in USA history to win three terms as President, but he will only ever serve two.
Year | Democrat Presidential Candidate | Votes |
2004 | Kerry | 59 million |
2008 | Obama | 69.5 million |
2012 | Obama | 65.9 million |
2016 | Clinton | 65.9 million |
2020 | Biden | 81.3 million |
2024 | Harris | 69.1 million |

Audi F1 is set to become a Qatari-owned team as a takeover announcement is expected, with the Sauber team set to rebrand for the 2026 season as Audi.
The Formula 1 minions were excited that another German manufacturer will be entering the sport in 2026.
The team even hired German driver Nico Hülkenberg, and also almost hired German Mick Schumacher before setting on Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto in the 2nd seat.
Well, it turns out the team will be German in name only.
Ralf Bach told the F1 Insider YouTube channel that Audi have already sold to the investors, and the announcement will be made at the Qatar Grand Prix next month.
Bach sees it as a major blow to Formula 1 in Germany, as the deal means Audi’s iconic four rings will essentially be ‘Lipstick on a Pig’ for a Qatar-fronted team.
“What we also didn’t tell you is that Audi will no longer be a German team in the future because, from what I’ve heard, they have Qatari backers,” Bach said via F1 Insider.
“With the majority of the Audi team sold,” expect the announcement at the upcoming Qatar GP.
