Aston Martin and Pirelli test 2026 Pirelli Tires in Barcelona

Formula 1 News: Pirelli announces tire compounds for final 3 races

Pirelli has today informed the teams what tire compounds it has selected for the final three rounds of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship.

From Las Vegas to Abu Dhabi, all five compounds will come into play, with all three Grands Prix running the same choice as in 2023.

The final triple-header of the season gets underway in the Nevada desert with the second running of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The street circuit, built around the Strip, hosts the third and final Formula 1 race of the year to be held in the USA from 21 to 23 November. Racing under floodlights, the drivers will be able to choose from the three softest compounds in the range (C3 as Hard, C4 as Medium and C5 and Soft).

The same trio will be used for the final round in Abu Dhabi, from 6 to 8 December at the Yas Marina circuit.

In between these two events, Formula 1 stops off in Qatar, where it has already raced in 2021 and 2023. This year’s race takes place all most two months later than in 2023, (28-30 November) and so there should be some slight respite from the humidity.

The Lusail track exerts similar forces on the tires to those at Silverstone and Suzuka circuits and so the hardest compounds will be used: C1 as Hard, C2 as Medium and C3 as Soft.

As usual, there’s one more act to be played out after the final race and that’s a test day, still in Abu Dhabi, on 10 December, with a two-part test program. Each team will field two cars: one for young drivers running the 2024 tires and the other to test the final versions of the tires that will be used next year.
