WEC News: Nicolas Lapierre named Sporting Director for Alpine

Retiring driver Nicolas Lapierre will take on the role of Sporting Director for Alpine Endurance Team to improve the overall performance of the drivers and the team.

The Alpine Endurance Team that competes in the World Endurance Championship has added a new Sporting Director role to support Team Principal Philippe Sinault.

Lapierre’s vast driving experience and extensive endurance racing knowledge will make him a valuable asset for Alpine Endurance Team.

This nomination will formally take effect from January 1, 2025, but Nicolas Lapierre will use the 2024 season finale in Bahrain to familiarize himself with his new role.

As a result, Jules Gounon will complete the Alpine Endurance Team lineup for the last race of the season.

Nicolas Lapierre’s professional racing career ended with a magnificent podium finish at Fuji, the first for the A424 and the start of a new era for Alpine Endurance Team.
