NASCAR Rumor: Hailie Deegan eyes step down to Indy NXT

On Monday Hailie Deegan lost her AM Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series ride and Friday Deegan was spotted at Iowa Speedway around the Indy NXT series and rumors are she is looking at stepping down to the IndyCar feeder series.

Deegan could be there visiting friends, but more likely she is looking at her options in the IndyCar Series.

This is what AM Racing had to say:

“AM Racing and Hailie Deegan have decided to part ways, effective immediately,” a statement from the team read. “We are grateful for Hailie’s contributions and dedication as the driver of the No. 15 Ford Mustang during her time with the race team.

“We wish Hailie the best in her future endeavors and look forward to her continued success on and off the track.”

In other words, her sponsor checks dried up.

Hailie Deegan is someone who can pull in funding and in IndyCar and Indy NXT there are ride-buyers aplenty. She was the Most Popular Driver in the Truck Series multiple times. So, she has value to a race team, if she can find the right sponsor to bring a big check.
