July 5, 2024
Formula 1 and Apple Original Films have confirmed the name of the new F1 movie based around the sport, and starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris.
Titled F1, the F1 movie will be directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced Jerry Bruckheimer, Pitt himself and seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, among others. F1 is set to be distributed in theaters and in IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures internationally on June 25, 2025, and in North America on June 27, 2025.
The F1 movie stars Pitt as former Formula 1 driver Sonny Hayes, who is lured back to the sport to partner rookie teammate Joshua Pearce – played by Idris – at the fictional APXGP team.
Filming of F1 – which also stars Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo – has taken place at real F1 events, including this weekend’s British Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, Sunday will see a teaser for F1 broadcast on the International Feed just ahead of the British Grand Prix at 9:33am ET – giving fans a tantalizing first glimpse into the action.
