This rumor is upgraded to ‘fact’ today with yesterday’s announcement that WTR Andretti will switch from Acuras to Cadillacs starting with the 2025 season.

Autosport rumors that the British JOTA and Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti teams are set to spearhead Cadillac’s twin assaults on the World Endurance Championship and IMSA SportsCar Championship next season.

JOTA is currently a Porsche customer team and Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) with Andretti currently is an Acura team in IMSA.

There has been no confirmation of the 2025 programs from either team nor from Cadillac, but it is understood that the contracts have at the least been agreed if not signed according to Autosport.  JOTA will run two Cadillacs in WEC and WTR with Andretti will run one or two Cadillacs in IMSA.

Andretti will be using Cadillac engines in F1 if he ever buys an existing team.

Laura Wontrop Klauser, who heads up GM’s sportscar racing programs, refused to be drawn on its plans for next year in the wake of Ganassi’s announcement in March that it would be parting company with Cadillac after four seasons at the conclusion of this season.

“We do not have a timeline set for an announcement,” she told Autosport.

“It’s a TBD for both programs at the moment.”
