Formula 1 News: Driver Penalty Points after Miami GP
After this weekend’s Miami GP, here is how many penalty points each F1 driver has. Kevin Magnussen leads all drivers with 10. Two more and he will be suspended for 1 race.

Drivers can accrue penalty points for indiscretions over a given race weekend, which are kept on their Super License for a 12-month period.
If a driver reaches 12 penalty points within the 12-month period, they will receive an automatic one-race ban.
These points remain on a driver’s license for 12 months, and if a driver accumulates 12, then they will be banned from the next event.
The penalty points are given depending on the severity of the incident in F1. These include, but are not limited to:
- Causing a collision
- Ignoring flags
- Holding up faster cars
- Ignoring pitlane speed limits
