Formula 1 News: Alpine trying not to copy Red Bull like others

Most teams in Formula 1 are trying their best to copy the Red Bull RB19 for 2024, but not the Alpine team because they think they know better.

Alpine’s technical director, Matt Harman has said,

“I think we understand pretty well what Red Bull is doing. But of course we don’t talk to Red Bull about it. And you can’t snap your fingers and understand from now on what’s going on right there.”

Unlike the Mercedes and McLaren teams who have no pride and will copy every detail on the Red Bull they can see, the French outfit is too proud to copy something the British designed.

Instead, they will head down their own route.

“It’s really important to be inspired. But if you keep imitating something, you’ll never move forward. That means we can get inspiration – but we have to go our own way. Because if you arrive with a car that is current today, it will be out of date in 2025. So you have to think two years into the future,” he said.

On social media their fans were critical of the Red Bull not being copied.
