Pirelli’s tire compounds for the Austin and Interlagos races mirror last year’s picks (C2 hard, C3 medium, C4 soft), while the Mexican Grand Prix sees a shift to softer selections than its previous edition, opting for C3 hard, C4 medium, and C5 soft.
The goal in Mexico is to adapt to the circuit’s thin air, low downforce car setups that require more mechanical grip from the tires.
The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez will serve as the testing ground for a new iteration of the C4 compound, with teams receiving two extra sets per driver of the experimental compound for use during the two hours of Friday’s free practice, providing crucial data towards the formulation of the 2024 compounds.
