TV News: USA Motorsports Weekly TV Ratings
TV ratings from last weekend’s TV broadcasts in the USA for NASCAR at Daytona, IndyCar in Madison, IL and Formula 1 at Zandvoort.
Rating Analysis
NASCAR
NBC drew a 1.8 rating and 3.27 million viewers for the NASCAR Cup race at Daytona Saturday night— the smallest audience on record for the race, excluding rain out races such as last year on CNBC. The 2nd Daytona was not run as scheduled in 2022 but in 2021 it had just under 4 million viewers. This year had around 3.3 million, which is a huge drop-off.
IndyCar
NBC drew a 0.56 rating and 1.09 million viewers for the Bommarito 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway. These numbers were of course up significantly from last year when the race was shown on the USA Network
Formula 1
ESPN drew a 0.54 rating 1.02 million viewers for the Dutch GP from Zandvoort Sunday morning. The viewership was down 11% from last year, also on ESPN, but the race continued F1’s trend of drawing the highest percentage of all-important 18-49 year-old-viewers – double that of all other racing series.
