NASCAR hands out penalties for five Xfinity teams at Daytona
A few days ahead of the Xfinity race at Daytona this weekend, NASCAR has issued penalties for five Xfinity Series race teams.
Per NBC Sports, the five race teams (and drivers) involved include: Ryan Sieg, Jordan Anderson, Justin Allgaier, Jeb Burton and Parker Retzlaff. NASCAR did not get into the specifics of the violations for each team.
Sieg’s car failed inspection three times. Per NBC Sports, “He will not be allowed the qualify, will start at the tail end of the field, must serve a pass-thru penalty after taking the green flag and loses pit selection for next weekend’s race at Darlington.”
Anderson’s car also failed inspection multiple times and faces penalties similar to Sieg. He will not be allowed to qualify, will start at the tail end of the field, must serve a pass-thru penalty after taking the green flag and loses pit selection for the next race.
According to NBC Sports, Allgaier, Burton and Retzlaff all face penalties of “starting at the tail end of the field, serve a pass-thru penalty after taking the green flag and lose pit selection for next weekend’s race at Darlington for inspection violations.”
