F1: Red Bull prepared with more RB19 upgrades – Monaghan
Red Bull’s Paul Monaghan confirms the team is prepared to upgrade the RB19 if needed in the 2nd half of the 2023 F1 season.
Red Bull recently introduced an update package for the RB19 during the Hungarian Grand Prix, and said their focus will now shift towards next year’s car.
However, Monaghan has not ruled out the possibility of further updates to media when asked, stating, “We’ll have to assess the upcoming races and monitor our competitors’ actions. There will be additional modifications to the RB19 throughout the season.”
Monaghan added, “We must be prepared to adapt, but I won’t definitively state whether we will or won’t. Our ultimate objective is securing both championships, and our strategy will be influenced by the most efficient course, recognizing that everyone else is pursuing the same goal.”
“It’s not as simple as suddenly conjuring up more downforce or a more efficient car. It’s not like plucking something from a magical vault,” Monaghan noted.
“We’ll stay the course we’ve charted. If the need arises for mid-season adjustments, we’ll consider it. Currently, we have a plan, and we’ll stick to it.”
