Stanaway boasts an incredibly successful racing pedigree, having competed in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe over the last 14 years. After becoming a New Zealand Formula Ford Champion in 2009 and German ADAC Formula Masters Champion in 2010, Stanaway went on to win the 2011 German Formula 3 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. With multiple race wins and podium finishes in GP3 and Formula Renault 3.5, Richie moved onto GP2 (now Formula 2) in 2015, where he recorded two race wins including the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix.

His experience extends to a series in Porsche Supercup with DAMS in 2013, the same year he joined Aston Martin as a factory GT driver.

Setting his sights on the Supercars scene, Stanaway made his debut in the championship in 2016 and won the Sandown 500 in 2017. More recently, he partnered with Greg Murphy in a 2022 wildcard entry for the Repco Bathurst 1000, qualifying an impressive 4th and finishing The Great Race just outside the top ten.

He will team up alongside three-time Supercars Champion Shane van Gisbergen as Co-Driver for the 2023 Supercars endurance rounds at Sandown and Bathurst.
