Rumor: Will Red Bull unveil a surprise in Barcelona? (Update)

Helmut Marko believes others will have a hard time replicating Red Bull’s floor.

“The Mercedes car hung in the air even longer. But I don’t think anyone was as interested in the Mercedes floor as people were in our car.”

“The floor is very important, but if you don’t have the other parts and all the underlying concepts, then it’s not so easy.”

At Red Bull, they are not sitting still and for next weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, an update will be included.

Helmut Marko confirms this in conversation with OE24. What new parts the Milton Keynes-based racing stable will bring to Barcelona the 80-year-old consultant does not say: “We are going to try something new in Barcelona,” Marko told the Austrian television station.

Will be hilarious if it is a zeropod car that Mercedes just abandoned and Red Bull buries them with it.

Dr. Helmut Marko said Red Bull are bringing changes to Barcelona to see if they work.

We would love to see the look on James Allison’s face if he sees the RB19 come out of Red Bull garage with zero sidepods at the Spanish GP and goes a second faster, just because Red Bull Technical boss Adrian Newey wanted to show it can work.

Newey was spotted lingering around the Mercedes W14 in Monaco as it lined up on the grid with the design chief then seen jotting some notes down in his notebook.
